Since I spend much of my workday on Zoom/Teams, I wanted to make something fun to hang on the wall behind me. In an effort to be sustainable, the letters were entirely made from scraps and outside of the background, I only used fabrics I had on hand. I wanted there to be lots of color to represent the diversity of the natural world and biology as a dynamic field, and not the boring memorization heavy experience many people have.
